The Francis Howell School District has announced the appointment of Amy Ridling as the interim dean of students at Francis Howell North High School, effective July 1, 2020. Ridling is replacing Michael Parker, who has been appointed as an assistant principal at Francis Howell High School, filling the position vacated by Dr. Jessie Altman, who was recently named Director of Adult Learning.

Ridling has 15 years of experience in education, and is passionate, innovative, and student-focused. “I believe in a collaborative culture rich with partnerships. We are all together in this journey towards a common goal of student success,” said Ridling. “I am excited to join the FHN community to continue the work of building relationships with students and parents, strengthening the ways in which we can support one another.”

Ridling currently serves as the Secondary Math and Science Content Leader in FHSD. Prior to that role, she was a middle school math teacher at Barnwell Middle School, teaching Algebra and Pre-Algebra. She has also served Barnwell and the District as a PLC leader and Cooperative Learning trainer, as a middle school summer school principal, and as a LEAP Intern. Before joining FHSD, Ridling taught middle school math in the Maplewood Richmond-Heights School District and the Poudre School District in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Ridling received a bachelor of arts in middle school math education from the University of Missouri – Columbia, and has a master of arts in school administration from Lindenwood University.
