Spring Semester of Your Senior Year
- Parents/guardians should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 1st of the student's senior year if applying for A+ funds the following Fall semester.
- The FAFSA is a federal financial aid form required of all college students receiving financial aid or scholarships.
- In order to be eligible for the A+ scholarship, the FAFSA must be filed each academic year.
- Parents/guardians may wish to consider filing taxes as soon as possible, as the FAFSA will require this information.
- Financial information provided on the FAFSA does NOT have any bearing on a student's A+ eligibility. Rather, the FAFSA is required to ensure that any federal funds that do not require repayment (for which the student may be eligible) are applied prior to the state's A+ funds.
- The FAFSA may be filed online at http://www.fafsa.gov
- Contact the post-secondary institution (college) to ensure your A+ file is complete by the required deadline.
- Students attending St. Charles Community College must have a complete A+ file by July 1st in order to avoid having to prepay tuition and fees for the following Fall semester.
- Visit the FHN Guidance Office to request a final transcript to be sent to the college you will be attending.
- Final transcripts are NOT automatically sent without YOU submitting a final transcript request form.
- Upon graduation, the FHN A+ Coordinator will verify that you have successfully met all the program's eligibility requirements.
- If eligible, your final official transcript will be stamped with the official Missouri A+ seal and forwarded to the college you indicated on the final transcript request form.
- The A+ stamped official transcript serves as verification of your A+ eligibility.
If you have additional questions or concerns about the FHN A+ Schools Program, please contact the A+ Coordinator, Ann Herman, at (636) 851-5924 or ann.herman@fhsdschools.org.
