The winter arts and concert season has begun, and includes winter guard, winter drum line, basketball pep band, and large ensemble, all comprised of talented FHN students.

The success of FHN bands and our students translates into steady growth in the FHN band program. In 2015, Knightpride consisted of 86 members. In 2018, FHN can boast there are 104 members at the completion of the season. These numbers show the steady and continuous growth:

Freshmen – 30

Sophomores – 32

Juniors – 26

Seniors – 16

Following this trend, we can predict the FHN band program to continue to grow in the coming years. A note of appreciation to Rob Stegeman and the FHN bands staff for their countless hours of dedication and commitment to students and the quality of their experience and instruction at FHN. Numerous studies cite the positive impact of music education on student learning and success. As you can see every day, these band students play a big part at FHN as leaders, mentors, and role models. They will take these skills with them when they leave, and use them as citizens and community leaders.
