Students at Francis Howell North can now experience the flavors of Taste4. Introduced to FHN on April 23, Sodexo is bringing new meal options that feature global flavors, shakeable seasonings, specialty sauces, and a variety of healthier options.

As part of the prep work, Sodexo interview over 300 students from 15 states when creating their Taste4 program. Students shared that they wanted their food to be fresh and fun, filled with flavor, and they also wanted more time to enjoy it with friends. “This menu is designed with that in mind and offers new and exciting options for students to choose from with plenty of variety in both dishes and flavors,” said Food Service Manager and District Chef Karin Mann.

Voting for future meal options will also be introduced. “The Taste4 Adventure station will rotate based on popular demand,” said Carl Ventimiglia, On-Site Service Solutions with Sodexo. “There will be a voting text service that allows students to vote for the food being offered on the Adventure line, one month ahead. One week it could be Beale Street BBQ, next week Fiesta, another week it could be Tater Temptation.”

“I love the pasta. It’s new and we’ve never had pasta before. I’ll have to check out all the other stuff tomorrow,” said Junior Haley Hosea. The updated taco bar has been a huge success as well. “It’s usually just chicken and beef. This week I saw they had turkey on today,” said Junior Thett Pruett.  “I’m excited to try the burritos.”

Building administrators were already receiving positive feedback on the new lunch options. “The kids have really enjoyed it so far,” said Principal Dr. Nathan Hostetler. “I’ve had students seek me out to tell me how much they like it already. The lines are moving faster than before. It’s been great!”

Taste4 was introduced to FHSD earlier this year at FHHS. FHC will also adopt the program in the 2019-20 school year.
